Nova is best viewed in Internet Explorer v.7. If you are using any other browser, the graphics, music and text may not be as clear. ----------------------------- The Earth’ is a myth, a legend. A tale created ages ago. The year is 10765. Humanity spans across numerous galaxies, but the most famous being Nova – The Founding Galaxy. The Origins of the Human Race are unknown, but millions believe that ‘Earth’ was the beginning. They say that we came from the Silu System, formerly The Milky Way, though it’s not been inhabitable for a few thousand years, since its red giant (Nicknamed ‘The Sun’) finally gave up, exploded and made the system a minefield of asteroids, hardly passable with the smallest crafts. Nova is one of three small systems circling round the master planet Gaia, which in turn orbits the Titan Star. Gaia is a colossal planet, covered mostly by land. Only about 6 percent of it’s area is water, though many underground oceans have been found. The planet is of such size that it would take 38 years to travel around its equator, traveling 200 miles an hour, but only an estimated 1 percent is populated, nearly all in the city and neighboring Space Ports. The land is rugged and littered with millions of miles of forestry and mountains. Breaking up the continuous pine forests are massive lakes, called Cores. They are deeper than most of the mountains are high, filled with dark icy water. The beauty of the landscape is a small reward for the dangerous creatures that live within the forests and lakes. A large city is in place within the forest, its sky-scrapers and massive space port dominating the landscape for miles around, and even though outside the city is dangerous, there are small lodges littered in the mountains. The planets orbiting Gaia are Cortan, Kyyae, Rupture and Novistad. Cortan is tiny in comparison, and is a ‘Glass-house’ planet. Three ventilated domes of poly-glass cover large areas of the planet, each one a different environment. Since the planet is inhospitable outside the domes, one of the domes is used for nature, a beautiful albeit man-made rainforest growing under a canopy of glass. It produces 70 percent of the oxygen needed for the general living of Cortan’s inhabitants. The second dome is used for industry, letting out large spaces for Galactic Corporations, from Nova system and other systems. Kyyae is a small, flat, cold desert planet, very close to Cortan, and is barely inhabitable. A few villages lie behind man-made dunes to stop the constant wind, trading with the occasional Store Ship that land here. It’s a very rugged existence, but many say that the People who live here are well balanced individuals, happier living here than they would in a more shallow life, say in one of the cities. Rupture is a purely water planet, with small landing pads on massive metal poles. The poles contain elevators which lead below the rough seas and go down 40 leagues to a city. Only the Higher-Upper class live in this Eden of a city, with the system’s best security, food, and wares that money can buy. When everything goes to hell outside Rupture, the people in the city will remain content and safe. Novistad is the only Ice Planet in Nova, and second largest planet in the system, and is only used as a re-fuel stop for Store Ships passing through Nova. A large deal of commerce is being pumped into this planet, and it is planned to be a main-stream resort for the wealthy and lordly. Only a few hundred live on the planet at the moment, operating the Space Port, and working construction on the wastes of Novistad. So far, Nova is relatively peaceful, run by The Ninety, a collaboration of the ninety leaders of the old republic. People suspect that there is some wrong doing within their leaders, but are too content to complain or care. Security is pretty average everywhere, with large military war ships protecting Nova from an potential threat of the unknown. Everything seems fine…

So to begin with, this RPG is text based and totally reliant on your imagination and linguistic skills. Here are a few of the obvious pointers.

" __" Speech marks - used for character speech
* __ * Asterisks - used for character thoughts. (Italics can also be used)
(( __ )) Double Brackets - Used for out of character posts. (OOC)

Everything else is in narrative, as descriptive and well written as you can make it.

Just to clarify, staff will or will not be appointed at admin's descression. Just because you are present on the site for a major part of the day, does not mean you qualify to be staff. Your posts must be well written, relevant and descriptive and you must be willing to help with the forum. Another point, those that ask or hint about being staff, will NOT become staff.

Forum Rules
Registering

Mary-Sue - No Mary Sue characters, no one is perfect and every character has their flaws, whether emotional, physical or psychological. Often it is the flaws that make the characters and the more interesting their flaws, the more interesting the character itself.

Character Creation - You must use the forum template to complete your character, filling in all of the sections that are relevant. You cannot post in any of the IC (In Character) boards until an admin as read and approved your bio. You may add things that you think are relevant to add depth to your characters.

Playing

Post Method - All posts are to be made in English and in the third person, a good standard that is no shorter than one paragraph, of at least three lines. This is to encourage better quality posts and not just mindless drivel. Spelling and grammar should be at a decent standard, and if these are your weak points, use a spell checker or write your post in a program like Microsoft Word or an equivalent.

Godmodding - No godmodding, this means that you cannot take control over other peoples characters, their thoughts, emotions or anything else. It also applies in fighting, if someone attacks you, it is up to your discretion to say whether the attack hits or not, but remember, you can't dodge everything.

In Character - When in the IC boards, you must stay in character. If it is urgent, you may place your OOC text in double brackets at the bottom of your post. E.G ((OOC: G2G cya later!))

Post Counts - When fighting, your post count determines the strength of the character. The person with the highest post count will win, unless previously agreed by the players. If two people team up and fight together against someone, their post counts are added together and counted together.

Player Killing - Player killing is not allowed unless you have the approval of the characters player or admin. You can injure people's character's in fights, but it is up to them whether they die or not.

Mature Content - Swearing is allowed in moderation, however please do not swear between every single word. It only shows your ignorance. Violence and sexual acts are allowed but please, nothing too graphical.

Flaming and abuse - Do not flame other members or admin. Any arguments are to be kept to yourselves, or at worst, IC. If an admin tells you to halt an argument you do so. Homophobia, racism, sexism or any other form of abuse will not be tolerated.

Love your Admin - Your admins are doing their best to make the forum and enjoyable and happy place, so please keep OOC posts respectful.

It is important to remember punctuation and correct spelling - there's nothing more annoying than a non flowing sentence or blatant spelling mistakes - Use the spell check, that's what it's there for!
